Ricoh Women’s British Open
Thursday August 3 – Sunday August 6 2017
The Ricoh Women’s British Open is one of the golfing highlights of the sporting calendar with the 41st Championship making its debut appearance at the iconic Kingsbarns Golf Links, Scotland.
In 2017 Kingsbarns had the honour of being the host venue for the Ricoh Women's British Open. The greatest players in the women's game assembled, including Michelle Wie, Lexi Thompson, Inbee Park, Stacy Lewis & Scotland's former Open Champion Catriona Matthew.
Over 4 days the players experienced the full spectrum of Links golfing conditions, with South Korea's IK Kim emerging victorious on -18 Par, one shot ahead of Jodi Ewart-Shadoff of England. USA's Michelle Wie would finish tied 3rd along with Caroline Masson from Germany and England's Georgia Hall, who herself would lift the winners trophy just a year later at Royal Lytham St Annes.
One of the most recognisable names in women's golf, Michelle Wie made a blistering start at Kingsbarns, setting a new course record 64(-8) to lead after the 1st round.
Open Championship Qualifying
June 29, 2010
The Open Championship returned to St Andrews in 2010, marking the 150th anniversary of the first tournament in 1860 at Prestwick.
As the "Home of Golf" hosted its 28th Open from 15–18 July, Local Final Qualifying took place at Kingsbarns Golf Links for the first time.
Kingsbarns provided a final opportunity for non-exempt players to earn a place in the championship. Our selection as a qualifying venue in 2010 was a significant milestone, adding to our history of hosting competitive golf events.
